Done!

Today was my last day with the birth control patch! (Don’t worry, Mom, I switched to something else.) I’d been planning on discontinuing my use of it because of a recently-developed sensitivity to the adhesive, but, though I’ve never had a problem with it and have been fairly happy with it outside of rash at the application site, the articles about it (especially recently) have just confirmed my decision. (Though, admittedly, I have had a hard time ascertaining what the risk of DVT from birth control is, I imagine that it’s a bit uncommon, and double that is still low; it’s just really catastrophic when it does happen. What was surprising to me was the extra estrogen exposure, which I’m not too terribly happy with. I’ve gone for a lower-dose option in the new method.)
