I went up to Ft. Wayne this weekend to help with Uncle M’s 49th birthday party. Despite the house being an absolute mess, filled with newspapers, cat hair, and un-hung art, we pulled it all together to throw a fabulous party. Since it was catered and the snow kept everyone inside drinking coke instead of outside drinking beer, we have 2 trays of bbq chicken pizza, 1 tray of chicken fingers, half a tray of sandwich wraps, and most of the stuffed grape leaves, cheese plate and fruit tray left. We also had most of the wine and beer left, though Aunt D tried to get rid of the wine herself. I really enjoyed the New Holland Red Tulip beer.
As a side effect of waiting for the papers to be cleared so I could vacuum, I became quite addicted to the Su Doku puzzles in the evening paper. They’re just puzzles where you use logic and stuff to make sure there’s only one of each number in each row, column and 3×3 square. The most frustrating part is getting to the end and finding you’ve made one mistake somewhere. It’s like finishing the 1000-piece puzzle to find the cat ran off with one of the pieces.
