Sunday started as a lazy sleep-in day. Our hotel room’s bed isn’t too comfy and the pillows are pretty flat, so it was nice that we were both tired enough to sleep late. Plus, we were both kinda worn out from the walking/running the day before and I had acquired a pretty nasty sunburn on my chest. Eventually, we got up and planned to go to a pizza joint up the street but it, along with every other regular restaurant in the immediate area, was closed at 10:30am on a Sunday.
We moved to Plan B: go ahead and get up to Fisherman’s Wharf and then get breakfast/lunch. Hooray for me, it also accomplished one of my other goals: eat at In-n-Out Burger. Hooray! (Yes, odd that we went to a seafood hub to have burgers and fries.) Then we hiked up Telegraph Hill to Coit Tower, but we weren’t willing to pay the $4.50 to take the elevator to the top. Still, great views! Once we walked down, we still had a couple of hours until our ferry left for Alcatraz, so we found a corner pub and had a couple beers before heading to Pier 33.
