keeping warm

We’ve been keeping warm with the wood stove this late fall, burning the tree that fell on the house. We had a nice pile of un-chopped logs, but this week, Fite Club came over to learn to chop wood. (It’s supposed to build the fine muscles needed to increase hitting power.)

I felt a little like Tom Sawyer when I said I’d host a lumberjack Fite Club: ‘oh, no. Wood choppin’s too much fun. I just couldn’t let you do it.’ But they all wanted to learn and wanted to keep going once they’d figured it out, so we have about 2.5 logs left in our “un-chopped” pile, and a full burnable pile. Whoo!
